The short version
- You can play singleplayer without signing up. Then nothing about you is stored.
- If you sign in, it is with Google, and we store your email address.
- Your player name, level and rating are visible to other players. Your email address never is.
- There is no analytics tool and no tracking across other websites.
- Advertising from Google only runs with your consent, and never during a round.
Playing without an account
Singleplayer works without signing in, and nothing about you is stored for it: no profile, no progress, no guesses. The rounds are computed on our server and sent to your browser; your guesses are scored and not kept. Playing with others, ranked matches and friends need an account.
Until September 2026, every visitor was given a guest profile automatically. Guest profiles created back then still exist, with the data described under “Game data”, until they are linked to a Google account or deleted on request.
Signing in with Google
Signing in creates your profile. From Google we receive your email address, the name on your Google account and a link to your profile picture; these are stored by our authentication provider (Supabase, see below). We do not receive your Google password. If you still have a guest profile from before September 2026, signing in links Google to it and your progress stays.
The name on your Google account becomes your player name, and player names are visible to others (see next section). You can change it on your profile.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
What other players can see
Your player name, level, titles, rating, wins and losses, supporter badge and name effect, and the achievements you pinned. These appear on the public leaderboard, on the result screen of a match and in lobbies. The leaderboard can be viewed without signing in.
Your email address, your friend code and your match history are never shown to other players.
Friends
If you add friends, we store who is friends with whom, open friend requests and lobby invitations. Your friends can see whether you are online, in a lobby or in a match, and when you were last active. For this, the game reports every 45 seconds, while it is open and visible, that you are still there.
You can only be added by someone who knows your friend code.
Game data
- Your guesses, scores and the time of each round
- Matches and lobbies you took part in, and whom you played against
- Experience points, level, achievements, titles, daily streak and daily quests
- Your competitive rating, wins and losses
- Whether you left a ranked match early, and whether you switched away from the game window during a round — only to discourage cheating and leaving matches
- Your supporter tier, if you have one
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, and for the fairness checks our legitimate interest in a fair game, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Stored in your browser
- Your sign-in session, so you keep the same profile when you come back
- Whether sound is switched on, and whether you prefer kilometres or miles
- A short-lived copy of the leaderboard, which is gone when you close the tab
These are strictly necessary for the game or remember a choice you made, and are never sent to third parties. Clearing your browser data removes them; your account is not affected and you can sign in again.
Advertising
The game is financed by advertising from Google AdSense (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google uses cookies and processes, among other things, your IP address, device information and the pages you visit, to show and bill advertisements.
Before this happens, visitors from the EU, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent. If you decline, you only see non-personalised ads or none, and the game works exactly the same. You can change your decision at any time through the same dialog. No advertising is loaded while a round is running, and supporters see no ads.
Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 165(3) TKG 2021. Google's own privacy policy: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Service providers
- Supabase (Supabase Inc., USA) — database and sign-in. Stores everything described above.
- Vercel (Vercel Inc., USA) — delivers the website. Its servers log your IP address, the time and the page requested.
- Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited) — the typeface is loaded from Google's servers, which transmits your IP address to Google.
- Wikimedia (Wikimedia Foundation, USA) — the photos of places are loaded directly from Wikimedia Commons, which transmits your IP address there.
- NASA (USA) — the satellite imagery on the result globe is loaded from NASA's GIBS service, which transmits your IP address there.
Some of these providers are located in the USA. Transfers happen on the basis of the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the EU standard contractual clauses. Legal basis for the delivery of the website itself: our legitimate interest in running it, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
How long we keep it
As long as your profile exists. There is currently no automatic deletion. Declined friend requests are kept for one day so they cannot be sent again straight away. Vercel keeps its server logs for a short period on its own terms.
To have your profile and everything connected to it deleted, write to kontakt@danner-solutions.at. For an old guest profile, tell us the guest name shown on your profile.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object (Art. 15–21 GDPR), and to withdraw a consent at any time with effect for the future. A message to kontakt@danner-solutions.at is enough.
You can also lodge a complaint with the Austrian data protection authority: Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, dsb.gv.at.
